Admissions

Around-the-Clock Admissions

At the Vines Hospital, our goal is to give you quality care in a timely manner while treating you with the dignity and respect you deserve. The admissions and referral department is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to meet the behavioral health needs of our community. Certain patients may be seen first based on clinical or medical need. Please remain patient, and a staff member will attend to you as quickly as possible.

24/7 No-Cost Assessments (No Appointment Necessary)

You will be assessed shortly after arrival to ensure you are medically stable enough to be treated at the Vines. We will take your vital signs and ask you to provide a urine sample. You will be asked to remove all items from your pockets and give any medications to the nurse. Your belongings will be placed in a secure area and you will be scanned with a metal detector. This is all done to provide a secure environment for everyone in the assessment area.

The Vines offers 24/7 assessments and admissions. For involuntary admissions, see Baker Act information.

Body & Skin Assessment

Prior to leaving the assessment area, your belongings will be thoroughly checked and inventoried by a trained staff member. The nurse will conduct a non-invasive skin and body assessment to ensure no contraband is on your person and to document the presence of any bruises, cuts or other injuries. Our goal is to conduct this examination with the utmost privacy and respect.

Confidentiality

Behavioral health services are confidential. We will not share any information you provide to us without your written consent. Under Florida law, we are required to report if you tell us you are planning to harm someone or if a child or vulnerable adult is being abused. Please let us know if you have a healthcare proxy, living will or guardian (someone who makes medical decisions for you).
